Coming to a Sad Realization

So my wife has been pointing out this sad new reality to me for...well, years now. I think, deep down, I've become a country boy. Some facts that prove this: (1) I drive a truck, not just any truck but a BIG truck, with 4 doors, slightly lifted, towing package, big V-8, black, with a small Texas flag decal on the back window. (2) Country music just sounds good now, and truthfully has ALWAYS. Not just that, but I'm listening to it all the time now. UGH! (3) I own a pair of real cowboy boots...I know, sad but true. (4) My little boy's room is decorated in John Deere Tractors, Rustic Texas style lamps, art work, etc. (5) When I get mad, tired, and/or excited this really bad habit comes out of nowhere...they call it a southern draw. (6) I really enjoy Rodeos and would secretly like to be a Rodeo Clown. (7) I have dreams of owning land. (8) hunting, riding horses, Fly fishing...LOVE IT! (9) I've actually spent a lot of time working on my grandparents farm...OH YEAH, people in my family owned a farm! (10) My wife told it must be true!
So you see, My name is Josh...and I'm country. But don't think for one minute you'll get me in a pair of wranglers and a Cowboy hat...Noo-ooo sir!!

Green Means Go!

Sorry sports fans, this post is not a rant about how much I dislike the traffic in Phoenix. It's to let you all know that Neena's blood work and other baby tests came back, "NORMAL!" The tests plus the visual they got of Brodee were to see if there were any abnormalities, Downs Syndrome, birth defects, mental disorders, blood disorders, growth defects, etc. The test were negative and normal which means we have a healthy, strong, normal baby boy growing inside of the Neener!

I know that several of you as well as, Neena and myself have been praying very hard for a Healthy, Normal, Strong baby and it looks like God has and is answering that prayer. So THANK YOU! and give a breathe a big sigh of relief.

More updates and pictures as they come. Thanks again!!

It's a....

....who am I kidding you already know. We called most you and the rest would rather read my wife's blog than mine, and she's already updated.

But just in case....We're having for sure. And after viewing today's sonogram we've decided that we were going to name our baby...

That's right, we're having a BOY!

I didn't quite chest bump the doctor, so I did control myself. I did however jump higher than I've ever jumped before, then I just couldn't stop smiling.

What kind of baby is ma-baby??? Well, I'm literally hours away from hopefully knowing that answer. Let me let you in on a little secret...I'M WAY TOO STINKIN' EXCITED!!! Just thought I'd throw that case ya didn't know.

So I can't sleep. It feels like it's Christmas Eve...only by this point on Christmas Eve I already knew about all my presents and I was just lying awake in bed running through my surprised look routine. I'm so bad at acting that I'm almost positive my parents knew. I can't wait til my kid is old enough to craziness!!

All day today I've been thinking about what I'm going to do when they, HOPEFULLY, are able to tell us what the lil' peanut is. I totally think I'm going to cry if its a girl. Why? Because I know I'll be beyond broke from now on. That and I think the first thing I'll think of is taking Stephen C. place as my daughter's graduation party...won't be able to do it. Carman's you're already invited so you can laugh at me be tortured. Now if I have a boy...I'll probably do that crazy man yell and chest bump our doctor...SHE may not like that, but I won't be able to contain myself!

Sorry for the randomness. I'm way too excited. I get made of constantly for being so excited...are there any other dads out there that were like this? They were probably better at toning down the cheer. Oh well. I'm pumped. Can't wait! In 15 hours I'll post again and let you know what we know.

I don't like causing pain.

Well...for the rest of my wife's pregnancy I'll have to cause her pain each and every day of it. Because of the pregnancy her blood has thickened so that she has to be on a mild blood thinner. The dosage comes in the form of a SHOT! I hate this. My wife is always excited to come home and tell me about her day, now she has to come home and get an injection. I can't wait for this baby to be born!

Please pray for Neena, that the injections are as painless as possible and that the rest of the pregnancy goes smoothly and without any more hitches. Also pray for the baby, that it continues to grow well, and remain healthy and strong. In case you're wondering, the injections do NOT affect the baby in anyway. This is a very mild blood thinning medication that reduces clots. Apparently Neena has inherited thick blood from someone in her family...although that is unknown. Right now they're telling us that b/c of the pregnancy she has a higher risk of forming clots...therefore the need for the injections. After the pregnancy they'll review her blood again and most-likely she'll be back to "normal". As much as Neena hates this...I feel I'm not far behind her. I don't like causing pain...especially to her. She too sweet and precious to have to go through this. BUT, she is VERY strong...I just hope I'm as strong. NO FUN!!
